Carving Pumpkins

We headed over to Nana and Poppa's house to carve pumpkins Tuesday night. We even had one of those nifty little books with patterns to transfer to your pumpkins for a "professional" look.

Eden refused to touch the inside of the pumpkins ("Eww! That's nasty!) and Reese would only use a scoop to get the guts out. Poor Jesse Bear was plum tuckered out and had already gone to bed.

By the time it came to actually doing the patterns and carving them out, the girls had moved on to the Family Room, leaving Chad, Aunt Heather, and myself in the kitchen to finish up. They were, as you can see, otherwise engaged!

Chad became a bit disenchanted with his pumpkin because he didn't press down hard enough when transferring the pattern. He was also convinced that his pumpkin wasn't ripe enough and could barely be penetrated with the carving tools. So, he decided to use a drill as a carving knife. When that didn't work (imagine that!) he punished the pumpkin. This video may not be for the faint of heart!

Our finished product. Eden's is on the far left- she especially liked the spider. Aunt Heather's is next. Reese's "Twoo-Face" is after that and Chad's pumpkin would be the one on the right that looks like it has the chicken pox!

Happy Halloween!

My sweet little family with the lights of St. Louis behind them.

Rub-a-dub-dub-- Jesse's stuck in the tub!

I Can't Breathe-- Already

I am around two months pregnant and I can't breathe already. Although tonight I don't think I can blame this on the baby right now. It may be more due to the fact that I just downed a very large Moe's burrito!! Gotta love Moe's!

Smile anyway!

This is the theme I'm choosing for my life: smile anyway. You never know what you are going to be delivered in a day, but since you also never know who may be taking a picture of you, you should just smile anyway. No one wants to be captured forever in time with a lemon-face! Hope you enjoy the pictures and news from our family!
